Promoting national fitness and attracting young migrants and talents are both important strategies for urban development. This research employs the lens of participatory culture to examine the potential of the local sports community (LSC) as a social design method to promote urban vitality. The research will generate a social design framework based on sports as a medium, offering new perspectives for policymakers and designers involved in urban revitalization and sports-related domains.
